FPC Membership Class (plus) - led by Pastor Dan Cravy
“Becoming Church” Oct. 5 – Nov. 9, 6:30 – 8 p.m.  Olivet Chapel
A six-week gathering that aims for a lived experience of the Christian faith and a taste of what FPC hopes for all whom God may gather. This opportunity is designed for everyone from those who are new or considering membership at First Pres to those who in any season of life are seeking spiritual vitality. Centering on the Way of Jesus’ radical love, our times together will explore Christian spirituality, authentic community, and life for others. There will be no assumption of prior biblical knowledge or prayer experience. In fact, what we hope is that this experience might provide pathways for approaching God, for developing relationships that matter for faith, and for focusing outward on the good of others. In addition to a brief orientation to FPC, you should leave with simple ways to make Scripture leap off the page, practiced ways of connecting with God, some new and deepened friendships, and some hands-on experience of Christian servanthood. Childcare provided as needed.
Facilitator: Co-Pastor Dan Cravy, 549-5144 (church office)

Men’s Study and Discussion Group:
6:30-8:00 p.m.  Room 206
This is a fellowship for men seeking an opportunity to share viewpoints and outlooks with other men in a faith centered community.  Regardless of what we study and discuss the objective remains the same — building trusting relationships with one another in a supportive Christian setting.  The initial discussions this fall are based on the book FEARLESS by best selling author, Max Lucado.  (We thought the title would be particularly appealing to men of all ages!) Often it seems the world is an increasingly chaotic place with budget woes, flare-ups in the Middle East, and social unrest, as well as more personal issues like business challenges, layoffs at work, family dynamics, and illness.  All these and more cause anxiety.  This series aims to help us harness those fears with a Christian world view and encouragement that the opposite of fear is faith.
Leaders: Carl Johnson  and Guy Hanson.
Women’s Group:  Beth Moore Study
“David: Seeking a Heart Like His” examines the “man after God’s own heart.” If you’ve ever experienced doubts, temptations, losses, family problems, or personal inconsistencies, discover how you, too, can have a heart like our own God.

Sept. 14 – Nov. 30, church chapel room
Cost: $16.00 for study book
