‘The chief end of (humanity) is to worship God and glorify him forever.’
These words from the Westminster Confession encapsulate the centrality of worship in human life. We were created by God to be worshippers. It is at the core of our nature as people to give praise, glory and honour to the One who is beyond ourselves, the Source of all life. And whether we direct our worship towards the one true God or towards created things that we attempt to transform into ‘gods’, that innate desire to worship remains.
At First Presbyterian, Missoula, we desire for people to experience life as a continual opportunity to respond to the passionate presence of God in every moment of every day. In other words, our hope is that people will come to recognize that life itself is an act of worship. Out times to gather together on Sundays and throughout the week are only one of the means for people to engage the living God in worship. They are intended to encourage, strengthen, and grow us more into people who live our lives in worshipful authenticity and integrity, as integrated people reflecting the beautiful unity of life in the Spirit.
To that end, we have numerous opportunities for engagement and involvement with God and others in our worship ministries.

WORSHIP MUSIC MINISTRIES DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR
The Chancel Choir
This is the primary group giving musical worship leadership at our more ‘formal’ 9.30 am worship experience and special services throughout the year. Rehearsals Sundays at 8:15 a.m. in the choir room. All welcome! Contact Tomi Kent, if you’d like to sing, or if you play an instrument and would like to be called on occasionally to play at the 9:30 service.
Time: Rehearsals Sundays – 8.15 a.m. in the choir room; 9.30 a.m. worship service; additional rehearsals and services periodically throughout the year [Fall through Spring]

The Bell Choir
An instrumental ensemble that provides additional musical worship leadership at services throughout the year, as well as special services. All are welcome!
Time: Rehearsals on Wednesdays, 7.00 p.m. in the Sanctuary [Fall through Spring]

The Worship Band
The group that provides musical worship leadership for our ‘informal’ 11.00 a.m. worship experience as well as during summer months. All levels of vocal and instrumental ability welcome – come join us!
Time: Rehearsals are on Saturdays, 10.00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
